<idAbs>

This is a point feature class used define the approximate head scarp or initiation area of landslides using the methods described in the protocol. Recent landslides visible in aerial/orthoimagery, from lidar, from field reconnaissance, or from information from outside sources are defined with this feature class. This feature class only includes attribute fields the analyst can populate remotely or from reconnaissance-level field mapping. This feature class is part of a larger landslide inventory dataset for Washington State.

</idAbs>
<idPurp>This feature class was produced to provide attribute and spatial information on landslides in Washington State. Data added will be non-regulatory and intended for informational purposes. It may not be suitable for legal, engineering, forestry, or surveying purposes; but it is intended to assist planners, homeowners, regulators, and others by identifying areas to seek further geologic investigation in before developing, or areas to avoid. Users of this information should consider their intended application, and review or consult the accompanying documentation, to determine the usability of the data for themselves.</idPurp>
