Description: Catch basins are chambers, usually built at the curb line, which allow surface water runoff to enter the storm water conveyance system. Catch basins are a component of the City of Mukilteo GIS Drainage Inventory. Other GIS datasets included in the inventory are Drain Points, Drainage Network, and Watercourse network. This inventory was conducted from 2010 through the present using GPS (Global Positioning System) equipment of varying grades. This project includes mapping that has been carried out as part of several Snohomish County Public Works projects, primarily the Drainage Needs Report program coordinated by Surface Water Management. Additionally, data from a variety of sources was incorporated into the GIS database framework created by Snohomish County to create the City of Mukilteo Stormwater Drainage Inventory.Incoming pipes to catch basins are identified using the code PIN (or pipe in) and the number of the pipe is assigned starting with the first incoming pipe located clockwise from the outgoing pipe, referred to as the POT (or pipe out). EX. PIN1 would be the first incoming pipe located clockwise from the outgoing pipe or POT in a catch basin. A value of "No Data" may be recorded where no data exists for this field, because the data was not collected. The absence of data may be due to the merging of numerous data dictionaries over time, the expansion of the data dictionary over time, and the modification of protocols to collect more or less data.
